I prefer to interpret it as Inafune being a complete joke. He has to actively ignore tons of talented Japanese developers like Marvelous Entetainment, Arc System Works, Atlus, FromSoftware, Grasshopper Manufacture, Neverland, Vanillaware, Platinum Games, and NIN-FREAKING-TENDO in order to make his strawman arguments work. It also doesn't help that the complaints he lobs against Japan are JUST as prevalent in the US, if not moreso. Grass is greener on the other side of the fence as they say
