Sounds like you got away a little less damaged than he did.
Never been hit myself, but I have a cousin who got run over by one. He was lying down in a field at some party back in high school when somebody decided to go for a drive. It was pretty bad. Broken bones, metal plates, reconstructive surgery. The scars are still quite plain to see on his face.
Hasn't stopped him from living his life, though. In fact, he recently secured a lovely wife (chicks dig scars!) and I think he's still dipping into the legal settlement he received to fund his MBA at Berkley (already has a P. Eng.).
