You're out of date, this isn't 2006 get with the times.
check out Leage Of Legends, Battlefield, Skyrim, Steam, Alan Wake , oh Alan Wake that game that didn't sell well on Xbox, it must be a failure on PC right?
|
Im sorry, I didnt know Epic games made all those. Cause if they didnt....then that was pointless to bring up.
Oh and Alan Wake 360 sold more then Alan Wake PC, they just said that PC sales surpassed the costs to port it, which werent much. Skyrim and Battlefield consoles much surpassed the PC versions.
|
Link? I have seen no proof of that.

Here. It is common knowledge that console sales of a multiplat surpass that of its PC version. I should have clarified im referring to sales. Non-pirated sales.
And your other quote, I am simply talking results, what actually happened. Epic over the past 7 years, has made the bulk of its revenue through console games and Unreal licensing to console games. The "why" doesnt change the results. You explained it, but in the end the answer is still one that benefits my argument.
|
No, actually it is not common knowledge. Especially for these games. ( http://bf3stats.com/ http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-12-16-valve-skyrim-fastest-selling-game-in-steam-history). Console games are not the only ones using Unreal Engine...and how much they've made off the engine is just irrelevant to what you were saying. "Investing millions into a game only to market it to people that by nature are pirates."
How is it the nature of PC gamers if they buy PC games on mass and the PC gaming market is bigger than any console?
It's really simple: Make a great PC game (not a port) and you're going to get the sales you deserve. If they go free to play too, there would be no reason to pirate the game.
|
The BF3 stats include that of pirated copies, if they arent then please clarify. Skyrim selling fastest in STeam history.....that says nothing about outselling the Xbox 360 version. Maybe the PS3 version but certainly not the 360 or 360/PS3 combined.
And the PC gaming market is bigger then any console...if you factor in the pirating users. But alas they mean nothing to devs as thats 0 revenue coming to them. PC gamers who buy legit are offcourse a smaller userbase then 360 and PS3.
But since we know nothing about this game, id say free to play is their best route to take
Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
