So you need an achievement/trophy to feel proud of your gaming accomplishments?  I forgot how serious gaming has become.  I pray to Thor that Nintendo never has an achievements/trophies system like Microsoft and Sony.  I want to be as far as away from your mind set as possible.

I pray Nintendo one day does have an achievement system because then I might start playing their games again.  You can call achievements worthless and they essentially are but they do drive you to do things in games you normally don't.  Perfect example-- I only finished that course because I thought I was going to get an achievement out of it. 

Not really trying to mock you just trying to point out how things have become.  You are right that it is almost the norm now considering 2/3 of the major video game console makers use an achievement system.  My main point is that you should be proud that you beat the level on your own.  There isn't any argument with what you stated because it is all true.  Some achievements make people do what they normally would have skipped or given up at.  I would suggest you posting a video of beating that level on youtube as a higher enjoyment of your accomplishments than collecting achievement points/trophies.  This way at least people can see your skills/accomplishments in action.  Also, it might help others out especially since it took you 3-4 hours to beat.
