Most "dead" PSP games as you refer to them, will make their way to PSN soon. That will give you 2 options, download them and put them on your psp or play them on the PS3 for those who don't have the PSP.
Putting loco roco or metal gear ops. on ps2 for a budget price would be a good idea, it worked well for both GTA stories for example.
