Those look like pretty realistic specs to me. It would mean, that we could see a very decent jump in graphics quality over the PS3, but the console could launch for $300-$350 without much subsidizing on Sony's part.

I just hope that they still go with a Southern Islands architecture GPU(like other rumors mentioned), which the 7670/6670 isn't. Maybe it's a typo and they actually use the 7770 as that one comes with 1ghz clock, but ofcourse console GPUs don't necessarily need to have the same clock as the graphics card the respective chips are used on.

Entry-level cards 7570, 7650, 7670
Mid-range cards 7750, 7770, 7850, 7870
High-end cards 7950, 7970
Enthusiast cards 7990

The 7670 IS part of the Southern Islands GPU family.

yea, I probably was a bit off calling it "Southern Islands" architecture - I meant the Vec16 architecture of the new chips, while the Turks that is in the 7670/6670  has the older 5D architecture

the filtering (AF/ textures) of the new architecture is said to be better (there have been in detail tests on pc sites that showed the hd 6000 series does have problems with flickering textures in certain AF modes), but well the 5D architecture is said to have lots of unused potential, so maybe that one would be a better option after all
