I am also open minded in this regard, but to slightly contradict myself: I most likely will get the PS4 and just 1 other console. Since the Wii U is launching first, it would have to be a pretty big disaster for me not to buy it.
So basically, Microsoft really needs to pull the rabbit out of the hat to earn my money in the coming generation. The only exception to owning just 2 consoles would be if all 3 turn out to be dramatically different and any rational person can already tell that will not be the case.
And I just want to add that I love buying the new tech right at launch, seriously, there is no better feeling for me than playing a brand new console and anticipating the coming game releases. It makes gaming and gaming culture so much more fun than the alternative of playing catchup all generation long. But that's just my opinion.
