Yes, Apple pretty much owns the tablet market right now, but that doesn't mean the Wii U won't be successful. The tablet appeal is just part of the console, there will be plenty of other things it can offer to be sure. Most importantly, actual BUTTONS. I like buttons. They are pretty important for most hardcore games, or just any game really. Also, yes, I guess it's not portable in the traditional sense, but thats really not the point. The fact is you can use the screen to play it anywhere in the house in the instance that someone else is using the TV your Wii U is hooked up to. A matter of convenience, and I think its awesome. The point of the Wii U is primarily for console game experiences, and not for on the go games anyway, which is what a majority of Ipad apps focus on anyway. Really there's a lot of difference between the two focuses. So again, I think its wrong to assume the Wii U will perform poorly just because of the Ipad.
