^ ah I did not know that windows phone market share included the terribad 6.5 and below platforms thanks for that.

Still think that Windows phone won't pan out though, or is simply not worth all the billions that microsoft will throw at it.

We will see. Windows 8 will be the key factor to Windows Phone success. Moble is extremely important and microsoft is well diversified company to be able to float a devision for many years until its a success.

They really aren't losing that much money on mobile even with the Nokia partnership. They have the phone OS licensing revenue, advertising and app store revenue from the platform coming in, as well as Android patent revenue. They fronted the xbox for how many years with billions of dollars and I honestly don't think they are yet even a billion dollars in the red with the Windows Phone.

Android is saturating the market, with its countless models.  But as far as OSs are concerned, Windows is probably the best one next to iOS.  It does its things differently, yet remains very user friendly.  It didn't settle on just mimicking Apple's iOS like Android did (even though I still like using it, as I have an Xperia Ray) .

It will be interesting to see it progress from here on out.
