varies from state to state. In my state around 5%... but each country raises that up more. Mines around 7-8% Though on some products like cigarettes and beer the rate is a LOT higher.
New Mexico has like... a 5% sales tax. But it's applied to the companies and not to the people at the point of purchase.
So that's like a 20% raise to the tax.
