I don't think many 25-35 year old males who own a house and work full-time would want to buy a console and a handheld. Sony should really back out of the handheld business and losing to the Wii brand was the biggest mistake that it made. The Playstation 2 dominated for good reason because Sony makes really good hardware for consoles. Nintendo's really specialty is attracting the younger demographic and this is why it has a strong grip on the handheld market. |
Good Hardware? The PS1 was probably the weakest console that generation, the PS2 was the third weakest power wise, and the PS3 was actually tied with the Xbox 360. Also, I've had more PS1s have issues on me than N64 or Gamecube consoles. Wii vs PS3/Xbox 360 is irrelevent, since the wii gets a lot less hot obviously so it doesn't suffer from overheating issues as does the PS3/Xbox 360. People want to insult Microsoft for RROD yet they ignore the tons of PS3 consoles with terrible blu-ray drives that tend to fail quickly.

Pretty sure this is not a "lets attack the ps brand and point out how much better the wii and 360 are than the ps3".
OT: While I have a Vita and I'm in love with the system, I completely understand why it has failed to do well so far. If Sony were smart, they would have made a deal with Capcom for a Monster Hunter "exclusive" game for Vita (which would be ported later to every other console) and make it a launch title. I find the lack of a God of War/Lbp/ Gravity Rush as lauch titles ridiculous. Why is it taking so long for Gravity Rush to get localized? Final Fantasy Type-0 could have easily been released already for the vita. The psvita keeps losing momentum/hype and people who weren't sure whether to buy one are pobably afraid to do so, as its future doens't seem that bright.
We'll have a better picture of its future after the release of Bioshock, Cod etc, but at the moment it doesn't look good.
