Nowadays most of Sega's games are made by third party developers who almost accidentally got their games published by Sega. The consumers don't associate Total War, Bayonetta, Valkyrie Chronicles or Condemned with Sega, they associate them with their respective developer, if anything. No developer actively seeks to get their game published by Sega

Could you provide evidence for this? They're strong words, and I have seen anything to indicate that in the press.

No evidence. Truth be told it's just speculation based on my own impression that games published by Sega have poor sales.
