| Train wreck said: With most big developers having their own cross-platform middleware, it becomes not whether a company can port, but all about the moneyhatting. The monster hunter and resident evil games for the 3DS were made with the same mobile architect that umvc3 used for the vita, so it can be done. Nintendo has a history of money hatting monster hunter to get its new hardware off the ground at Sony's expense, but Sony ended up getting its monster hunter anyway, this time around will be no different. |
The mainline Monster hunter games has an almost zero chance appearing on the vita right now. Capcom can't just go on usual multiplatform route because of the nature of the portable franchise. If the audience splits into 2, then it will be twice as difficult to find members to hunt with. That will seriously damage the main appeal of the game and can even be fatal in the long term.
Now why would they do that? We all know the franchise is so powerful that the audience will fully migrate to whatever platform the main portable series is currently on. It makes absolutely no sense what so ever.
Capcom had to choose one platform for the future of the handheld series . They chose 3ds.
