There almost definitely will be a bigger focus on digital downloads, and if SONY and Microsoft make their stores more open (like steam), the middle man gets cut out and more studios won't need publishers. Cheaper to distribute and bigger profits for developers.

You actually have a good point there. While I admit I like the traditional model better, I still use steam for all of my pc gaming. If they could make the transition to a digital format while still managing to avoid the temptation of countless filler games (like the iphone/ipad games) I would gladly support more powerful consoles.
