So how much does releasing a console first in a generation relate to sales?

How can the PS2 be first when you said yourself in the next sentance that Dreamcast was? PS2 came after Dreamcast and therefore its not first.

Since Dreamcast dropped out of the race we then go to the next console that actually launched and finished the gen first. That is PS2.
