Well 1 and 2 were based in a city underwater (Rapture). In the first game you were on a plane and it crashed into the ocean so you found the city and things went from there. The place is pretty fucked up. It really should just be experienced, though. Don't want to give the whole game away! |
So true. I'd suggest to anyone who hasn't played it to at least give it a shot. The game's atmosphere, story and overall imagination are very, very impressive. Still my personal favorite game of this gen, hands down.
One thing to note is that Bioshock 2 is NOT made by Irrational Games, but a different dev team altogether. It seems like more of a cheap way to cash in on the setting of the far superior original, and while it's still an ok game, it really lacks the imagination and originality that makes the first one so stellar. Personally, I'd say skip it altogether and await the incredible looking Bioshock Infinite after playing the first masterpiece.
