Nobody has mentioned it yet, but Nintendo's biggest mistake was to abandon their fanbase. This includes putting their by far biggest IP on hold for 15 years. It's insanity.

But actually, their biggest mistake is to repeat this mistake. They dug themselves a hole that they now have to crawl out of. For the first time in their video game history, they are posting a loss in a full financial year.

Nintendo stopping the SNES CD project may seem like the biggest mistake, because it created a competitor with PlayStation that took the vast majority of third party support. But what you shouldn't forget is that this third party support has not come back, yet Nintendo did beat PlayStation in the seventh generation regardless. What this means is that it wasn't Sony who stopped Nintendo in its tracks in the past, it was Nintendo who caused the downfall of Nintendo, because they stopped making the games that made them popular in the first place.

Yeah, it boggles the mind.Nintendo is Nintendo´s worst enemy.

And Miyamoto has (or had?) way too much power and free reign in the company.
