How do you know that what Sony means?

Because PS2 had a "10 year life cycle", yet the PS3 came out in 6 years. Games still came out for PS2 for a minimum of 10 years though. Same applies to PS3. They wouldn't make up some arbitrary number since a new console release depends on the state of the industry, technological advancements and competitors releasing their consoles. You can't decide 10 years in advance and Sony never have.

You speak like you have the facts.  How do you know the same applies to the the PS3.
