Seriously people, stop spreading those silly specs around. A console has to target the $200-$250 range, anything else is suicide.

Currently, we can roughly calc with:

$15 per 100mm^2 die area for high chip yields

$25 per 100mm^2 die area for satisfactory waver production yields

$35-$50 for unsatisfactory yields. And the 28nm nodes are currently ALL running on unsatisfactory yields (GF even has problems with its 32nm nodes), hence the high prices of all the new 28nm graphic cards).

So a (modified) 7950/680 would be around $150, add your 2-3G of GDDR ram and you are are at around $300 for the GPU (for 2012).

Add a $100-$150 (28nm) CPU, and even more ram, and the rest of your console ($100) and you can manufacture your PS4 for around $550, pointing to a $700 console. Yeah like that's gonna happen..

Don't forget to add the "The console won't run used games" rumour, it is almost mandatory now. Also use the word "stacked" a lot (as in all those GAF threads by umpteen clueless  twit posts).

Seriously people, next gen consoles will have marginally more power than current consoles (and talking about "power", better GPUs don't count as "more power", they just mean you can output better pics if you want. Something has to drive those GPUs and it's not going to be gigantomanical CPUs).
