Is one president capable of being the visionary and leader for online services AND first party publishing?

One is a publishing role, the other is a service role. Can one person reliably do both? The answer is no.

That's like saying the Hotel manager should also be the head chef.

@bolded: That is something that actually happens really often^^

I just think that online services is part of constumer relationship/public relationship and should be kept there, otherwise you will get a situation were one arm doesn't know what the other one does and first party publishing doesn't need to be seperated from publishing in general, it's a minor department within publishing, but should not be seperated from it in any way... Now making a department that does online services AND first party publishing, that would be even stupider than making them two seperate departments...

Maybe in whatever hotel you go to.

Hotel managers should not be the head chef period. This is a corporation, not some local innkeeper.

I have never been to a hotel where those roles are the same because a head chef has so much on his plate already that he doesn't have time for anything else. It is a similar situation here.

I think you're trying really hard to make this move sound stupid. Do you work in a corp, because I do.
