What programming language could a fresh beginner start using? C++? Any good books, tutorials. I'm thinking about grabbing a few books from the library and locking myself in a room. |
I'd say learning skills is highly dependant on what area of development you are most interested in (Animation, Modelling, Level Design etc etc), as for programming I'd recommend you start with C# (This language is considered "easier", but I can't comment on that as I started out with C++), C++ or JavaScript (Works in Unity as well), but in my personal opinion C# and C++ are the way to go for game programming.
http://www.cprogramming.com/tutorial.html <- If you'd like to learn programming, that website may be of interest/help to you.
Note: In my personal experience, free tutorials which you can find on the website will teach you just as much as books which you will have to purchase (or lend).
