Well, yes. It's just $20. And I don't think it has enough content for a retail release.

It probably is quite a long game, or maybe it isn't the most fun game? |
It's a very short game. But, in my opinion, it's well worth its price. I love it for what it is.
I just don't think it's the appropriate game for a flight. :)
By the way, have you tried it, NintendoPie? Did you like it?

Well, let me say I love Escape Plan. I'll post this and then go for my third playthrough. My Vita is next to me, ready for action. lol
But... I don't think it would be the right game for that purpose you told us about.
Escape Plan is a great game if you play it like it's meant to be. And that is in short bursts.
Its levels are pretty short, some are over in 10 seconds (if you do things right). If you play it for three hours straight (and you don't go for 3 stars in each level), you will probably finish it before the thee hours are gone.
And you'll probably will not take the best out of the experience this game can give.
To mention another game: Pushmo. Do you know it? It's like if you go for 250 Pushmos straight.
I think it's a lot better if you go for some Pushmos now, some Pushmos later, some another day. You'll have a good reason to pick up the game and go for another challenge.
I think the same can be said about Escape Plan's level. They're awesome if you play them in short bursts. Lots of fun! :D
That's just my opinion though. :)
I think Escape Plan is better for bus/metro, than it is for plane. lol :)
With that being said..... you should play it! Of course! It's so unique and full of charm!!!!!!!
