After WW2 Western democracies flourished: corporations were paying taxes, the middle and working classes had well paying jobs that allowed for vibrant societies. For the last thirty years all of the profits from business have been transferred to a wealthy 1% who pay no taxes while the broader populations have been marginalized and impoverished with wages leveled and job security removed.
