It's the same here in Canada, where the anglosaxon population is more concerned with good education, good jobs and good fun than children, resulting in many women putting off having any children until their thirties or forties and then, often, just one (or none). However it's counterbalanced by large influx of Asian and East Asians whom have lots of children and keep the population growing. Generally speaking, they are all working, contributing members of society and increasingly leaders in the business and political arenas.
