I will add one point (more of a question than a point), is it possible that some races are more genetically predisposed to retaining fat? After all, black people (the largest minority in America) have more recently left an area where food is scarce. White Europeans have had a steady supply of food for hundreds of years, now. Even before the industrial revolution, there was an agricultural economy. I mean, the reason behind the difference in skin colour is down to the sun (I think), so maybe this might have an effect, as well. I could be chatting complete shit. I'm just putting a couple of observations together. I'm now going to sit and wait to be proven wrong. |
Some races are predisposed to retaining fat.
However, the black population has almost nothing to do with their "immigration" to America, and everything to do with their history in America of having access to only very low quality cheap foods, combined with the current policies of food suppliers in general.
Basically, you look at it like this.
Farmer grow all kinds of different food. A big chain like McDonalds comes in. "We need X amount of corn and wheat, and beef, and we will pay you Y". But that price is much much below the going price! Doesn't matter because at the amount of X, price in Y will more than cover deferred costs of independent sales. The farm must make the decision to grow less of crop B, and more corn and beef.
Then raising the beef is too expensive for food supply issues. Well, we only make corn and wheat now, so we'll feed them that. Based on how much we already make, it is "cost effective". This is the MOST EFFICIENT way. Meanwhile, they take the beef and cut it into many different cuts. Each piece goes into a different market. The nice healthy bits will go to the richer purchaser because, hell, with all the corn they feed the cows, healthy meat is now much rarer, and the market has preference for healthy, thereby creating demand.
What others will get in the end, is the middle class cuts, and the poor and inner city city will get the pink slime....meat drenched in disinfectant because CORN IS FUCKING SO UNHEALTHY FOR COWS (grass fed to cows once a week or so completely destroys all dangerous bacteria in cow meat) and cut from as close to the skin as possible, and made from all the fattiest parts of the cow.
So, do you understand now? This is basically how slaves were fed, and this is now how the inner city and poor are fed. And it has nothing to do with the fact that healthy food isn't affordable. It has to do with the fact that because farms have to stop producing other foods like carrots, celery, etc in order to produce for the company that pays their bills most efficiently, the healthy foods are suddenly a rare commodity.
This is the basis of malnutrition in America.
