In general Mexicans are also around 3%-8% black, depending on what part of Mexico you were born, those in Veracruz and other states have a much higher percentage. 


Yeah, It's supposed that most black slaves that came to Mexico, combined with the Indians that worked in the same place as them, so yes. Actually during "la conquista", there was a lot of ethnic and "race" combination, and they were called castas. Here's a castas diagram.
