The pole position he gained should give him the confidence boost he needed (especially since it was fair ahead of everyobe else), he'll be unbeatable with that confidence (I would know from doing Go-karting, if I do well and dominate in a session I usually have massive of amounts of confidence and can make no mistakes in the next).
