What do you expect, most of us are too young to have been around when the old ones were running, and however much nostalgia those who saw the originals hold, things do age. I find it hard to watch most old films because the acting style just doesn't work for me, so even if it were possible to find all the old episodes it's harder to get into it. (Hell there are even a number of episodes that are simply lost in time, what with being aired before personal video recorders were popular and the BBC losing their copies)
The only old Doctor still going in my lifetime was McCoy, who I gather isn't very popular even with fans of the old series.
Having said that, Tom Baker is awesome, and I think I could probably enjoy most of his episodes (only seen 2 or 3)
