Yes eventually. Right now brain wave based controls have been in the works for years and while I don't know how much the big three are invested I know Sony was working on brain based control systems years ago already.
In the future say 20 years from now I am guessing we will likely have a hologram display maybe not Ala StarWars but it will be similar. With a brain based control system. That or the Matrix will occur another thing Sony has been working on according to reports I read years ago.
With brain based controls their will be absolutely no use for a controller. Rol is slightly wrong just like physical media will eventually disappear so will the controller. No it won't happen likely within ten years but it is inevitable Controls are not going to be needed once mind reading headsets are made or the Matrix is realized.
