If this were a TV show... it'd be the office, with Michael Scott as the US government... and people looking at how well his office does and giving him more power control and responsibilities, when in reality, the office does well inspite of him... not because of him.
I'd consider myself Stanley. Just trying to get by avoiding Michael's stupidity as much as possible.
