Watched it now. It's a stretch for him to claim that the Democrats are racists, ever since JFK they've done far more for civil rights than the Republicans.

i dont think he was claiming that, i think he was just, debunking the myth that republicans were/are. but it is usually always democrats who like to divide people into different groups and view people as different groups, not just as people, everyone has to be subdivided.

Also the Nazi's may have had socialism in their name but they certainly weren't socialist. Nor were the Italian facists. Not the the Republican party is facist either.

really then what were they, they believed in wealth redistribution, they believed in a strong authoritarian government that controller the people. relly i see little difference between the communists of russia, and the communists of Germany.

As for the greed thing - the reason Republicans are accused of being greedy is because their plans for tax tend to favour the rich more than the Democrats plans.

thats another myth too, first of which i would agrue that the social welfare programs have done more harm to the poor than any other policy. further more according to the IRS  berfore the busch tax cuts, the tops 1% of income earners paid 37% of income tax, afterwards around 2008 they paid 39%. furthermore before bush tax cuts top 5% paid 56%, after they paid 60%

@killerZX the important thing to watch in terms of racism is basically which way the South votes. This is a pre-civil rights presidential election (1956)

This is the first post Civil Rights (1964) election (which was just after the assassination of JFK).

Basically the Democrats completely reinvented themselves over the issue and swapped strongholds with the Republicans who previously couldn't get votes in the South and since then can't lose them.

i think this was referenced kind of in the video, by him talking about the whole social welfare system, and still after JFK you had people robert byrd, and LBJ (the president of the sentate who lead filibusters against the civil right bill, thats right LBJ was one of the biggest opponents of civil rights) also the civil right bill would have never passed if it werent for all the republicans who voted for it, in much higher numbers and % to than the democrts

Lol, I'm not sure what i found so shockingly inaccurrate, the video or your your response. LBJ was definitely in support of the Civil Right Act, he did more for the Civil Right movement than any other President. This can be seen with the Civil Right Act and the Voting Rights Act. There is all lies in your statement and i want to see proof of so called percentages.

It's actually a lot more complicated then you'd think.

Up until the Civil Rights bill he was EXTREMLY anti-civil rights, then a switch flipped.

He was either a racist who later switched positions to get black votes, or someone who believed in civil rights who pretended to be a racist to appease racist democrats to get into positions of regional and national power.

I believe in the latter more then the former.  Though he did put on a good enough show to where you could well believe the former.  Even so much as he calldd his black servents nigger to their face in public.  Though, this mostly seemed to happen when in the presense of other racists.

I mean, the black vote I don't believe historically was very important at that time.

Though he did kind of hedge his bets by saying the first bill needed to be passed because "They owed it to kennedy, since he died but really wanted the bill passed."
