Haven't watched but the Democrats have a much more racist history than the Republicans. The Democrats only really became the progressives on the issue once JFK was elected.

What I was thinking.

Really, even a lot of progressive issues are based on racism.

It's just what i would call... "What can you do" racism.

Is a scholarship that gives money to people of a certain skin color racist?

Yes.

So is the United Negro College Fund Racist?

Yes.  But Black people are behind in college students racially because of past racism... so what can you do?

The problem with modern political discourse is that every side of the arguement likes to present themselves as if there position will be better at every single thing ever and there are never any downsides.

When a real adult discourse would be to look at the pros and cons of both, and decide what is worth it.

Is having a racist collegefund worth it, if it infact brings the races closer together as far as equality goes?

Is it healthy to view races as "Teams" despite the fact that Bill Gates doesn't care anymore about a poor white kid in harlem then he does a poor black kid.

If it isn't healthy to view races as "Teams" what recourse then is there to take care of those who suffered in the past of such categories? Espiecally considering recent research suggests that suggests that early life situations effect your children.  (IE being malnutritioned as a child actually makes it more likely for your child to be malnutritioned, even when accounting for all other factors.)

There are so many facets, arguements and philosophical debates to be had about issuse... but unfortunitly, rarely does it ever get past the inital stage of "My Dad is better then your Dad at everything."
