Well not having tried Origin I don't know what it's like, but if it's like Steam then it in general won't bother me... however there are games on Steam that I would not buy even if my machine would run them simply because they require dumb shit like always online or for me to sign into something just to unlock the game.
All I want is to be able to buy the game, and play the game when I want with no other interuptions or hurdles to jump over.
Having said that, my copy of Sim City 4 is from Steam... so why wouldn't SC5 be available through Steam too? (again though, if there are dumb requirements like those with Windows Live stuff, I won't be buying it at all)
