Well I for one understand the op.
When I was a child I remember we kids respected adults. It would've been impossible to shout at an adult without him yelling at you or making sure your parents knew your behavior and guess what, parents acted accordingly and punished their kids.
When I was a teen girls used to dress like girls not like hookers. And what's with this bad mouthing all the time. I remember as a kid I even went and bought cigarettes for an old lady that payed me a few pennies it was legal. I could go on parks and play alone without my parents panicking because I wasn't 5 meters from them.
Movies were also different. They featured real people not these fake boobs, lips, muscles, shiny skin and always sport the perfect cloth and haircut. Cartoons were different for the better to me. People weren't always trying to find sex connotations in every scenes like they do today. I had no cellphone or internet and had to walk to my friends to come up with fun games because today kids don't and can't play outside it's too dangerous.
It was all different, these days I feel like living in a fake everything.
I could go on but as an adult right now I like this time we live in. It's possible to get a job in anything, the world is closer than it was back then. There is more diversity more cultures mixed up etc.
