It's hard to argue with him overall, that Japanese industry has taken a huge hit in my opinion. The sales aren't there, the praise isn't there, but the nostalgia is as strong as ever. It's unfortunate that Nintendo is really the only company to have a grasp on quality games and keep in line with consistency. I think he's being blunt because he feels like he has to, if you feel like the games suck overall, then you should say it.

I could argue all day, it's his opinion fine but to bluntly throw that out there isn't constructive, Japan has had a decline in it's software sales but the quality is still there if you want to find it. If he feels so strongly about all this and i would say he does with a statement like that then he should explain himself and offer advice to where he thinks they've gone wrong not just tell them there crap

Maybe I'm reading wrong but didn't he?

"Others looked on awkwardly as the Japanese developer was then subjected to a string criticisms about game design flaws in his native country. The developer nevertheless thanked the panel for their response and returned to his seat."
