I generally think of the UK as a pretty cool place. On my trip there a while back, I really enjoyed seeing all the architecture and history there, and I quite enjoyed what I saw of London (though I imagine I'd like it about as much as any other city if I spent more time there... which is to say, not much). The history especially was awesome, because we don't have that kind of stuff in the US, aside from a few rather uninspiring Native American ruins.
If I was to live somewhere outside the US, the UK would be one of my top choices. I do get the impression that many in the UK do buy into stereotypes about those of us here in the US, but I don't know how true that is. The only real downside is that you guys drive on the wrong side of the road.
