Isn't that the main factor that determines next generation purchases when little-to-no knowledge is known?

And that's why deciding now feels very rushed to me. I'll decide by what's on the table after the consoles released.

I'm not particularly "loyal" to franchises either, as more often than not I feel reluctant to pay for a game that is so very similar to it's predecessor (even if I loved that one)..
