Good lord, you have no idea how happy I would be if the US adopted the metric system. The English system is a pain for conversions, it's convoluted, and nobody else uses it. Unfortunately, in many industries here (like the aerospace industry), so many things are set up to be done in the English system that it is unlikely to go away any time soon.
