I agree with the op: the personality is developed throughtlifes experiences and the immediate culture that surrounds the individual. I disagree, though, in the perception that a personality is fixed and unchangable. Also, I agree with the idea that the personality is not like a foreign entity over which our conciousness observes, we ARE our personality. I have always perceived this argument against free will as an agressive response to religious broken morality, rather than a well thought reality. A rational mind always has options and goes further to the better of them, it has nothing to do with the emotionality of ones personality.
