I like what you said here and I agree with you.  Who cares which one sales well.  If both sell well and get good software support then the winner overall is the gamer and that's what really matters. 

If I had the money then I would buy both but I don't at the moment .

Of course sales are important.

It raises the chances of great games in the future for the console! Or do you think Vita pleases the eyes of let's say Yuji Hori selling 10k per week in japan? Or do you think sony is willing to invest how many millions on the next uncharted if the thing is not selling very well?

Sales are everything, so they equal quality! But of course both can do well!
