I don't like the fact that Wii U comparison point is X360/PS3.

They're 7 year old technology for gamer's sake.

Well then, complain to Nintendo for playing it too safe with the Wii U and basically going for a repeat of the Wii in terms of hardware specs.  We'll have to wait and see at E3 just what exactly the Wii U is capable of compared to the PS360, but all indications point to it being only marginally more powerful.

Still, if every Wii U game looked as good as games like Battlefield 3 or Uncharted 3, would you people really complain about that?

I'm waiting until E3 (when we see games running on final hardware) before I make any claims on what the capabilities of the Wii U are, but my expectations are that it is a modification of the Wii strategy; and that isn't a bad thing.

While I know there will be many people who disagree with me, I think it is entirely reasonable for companies to focus on producing games at a full 720p and to produce moderate improvements in graphics in order to keep console costs reasonable; so that consumers don't have to spend insane amounts of money to buy these systems, and the console manufacturers don't have to lose insane amounts of money to sell these systems.  On top of that, developers and publishers should focus more on producing the games they can afford to develop rather than producing games that the vocal minority of "core" gamers want.
