I just found it really annoying having to use the d-pad, so changed the new controls, which seem to be okay. I also think that winding up without turning is a little unrealistic, unlike the rest of the game...

I know that the characters are at level 4, so that might mean that there tricks are better than usual to make the demo more exciting? As I do feel that there is less skill in tricks than I remembered

"winding up without turning is a little unrealistic" How does winding up work anyway... I have no clue, I can hardly remain upright on a real snowboard :)

It remains to be seen what lvl 4 is, how many levels there are. But it is definitely easier then SSX3. There I have a fully levelled and upgraded Zoe and she can only approach the same kind of crazy tricks at big jumps with a trick boost. Landing and getting on rails takes more effort. Here I have trouble avoiding them if I don't want to get on a rail. Maybe there are diffirent difficulty levels in the full game.
Tricks may be easier to do, but that gold medal is damn hard to get.
