| Euphoria14 said: The lack of UMD isn't the problem though and Vita is backwards compatible with PSP games (Don't know why people talk as if it isn't). The issue here is price, not the lack of a UMD drive, which would not only be a big drain on the battery, but would also cause the Vita to be larger. Nothing is wrong with the design of the Vita, it is just the way they execute some things. The people who cry about the lack of a UMD drive are those same people who a few years back complained about the UMD drive. O_o Also, Nintendo is no better since they charge $5 for NES, $8 for SNES and $10 for N64 titles. PS1 titles (Majority) cost less than Ninty charges for SNES games, plus they also eventually dumped GBA support on DS, so how long before you think they dump DS support for digital as well? Believe what you want, but they are far from perfect too, and I doubt they will offer a passport program either. Fortunately though this thread is about the Vita and not a Vita/3DS comparison thread, so no offense, but I am looking for insight on why they are so off on their prices and care not for what Nintendo is or isn't doing with the 3DS. If I wanted to know that I would be in the 3DS thread.
P.S. - I pirated the shit out of the PSP I had, so that is why the lack of UMD means squat to me. Now I am actually going to buy the games and it ends up being worse. Makes me want to pirate them again, lol. I only owned maybe (3) or (4) UMDs, with one of them being the Spiderman 2 movie, which came with my PSP. |
I believehe Publisher sets the prices (look at the Vita online prices, some are great others are awfull, depending on the publisher).
But if the PSP games in Europe are indeed cheaper than the ones in the US (which would be a wellcome change from the game prices norm), then maybe SCEA are incompetents...
