alright folks..some good info for peeps in Europe..mainly those in UK
first up
http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2012/02/17/wifi-ps-vita-for-less-than-200/
"This has just popped up on popular deal-finder website HotUKDeals.com and it is basically pointing out that, although the online price remains at £219, Asda will be selling the WiFi PS Vita for £196.98 in store from the 22nd of February – launch day.
That’s a considerable bargain, but it’s unlikely to be the last one, with other supermarkets surely going to play their hands soon enough.
In addition, we assume this is just for the console itself so factor in any special pre-order packs or bundled memory cards when you’re planning your purchase.
We’ll let you know, obviously, if any other prices roll in between now and Wednesday."
and
"GAME will hold a midnight launch event for PlayStation Vita at its flagship London's Oxford Street store next week.
Festivities begin at midnight on Tuesday, 21st February.
Pop along for the chance to meet WipEout 2048 developers Karl Jones and Ami Ledger. They'll be signing copies of their game, one of the Vita's launch line-up.
PSN vouchers and other goodies for the crowd will be given out courtesy of the PlayStation Vita Mobile Team, whoever they are.
And if you're first in line then you'll win a year's free supply of PlayStation Vita games. Tell them we sent you.
Following that, if you can resist going home to tear off the Vita's shrink wrap, the "most committed" fans will be invited to an exclusive after-party. That takes place down the road at Sony's PlayStation Vita rooms, where DJs and refreshments will reside."

and now here's a good interview about Motorstorm and what's coming up in the game line up
http://www.officialplaystationmagazine.co.uk/2012/02/17/sony-developers-making-so-many-exciting-games-many-havent-been-announced/
One important tid bit from the interview
"OPM Jim Ryan has talked about PS3 not yet hitting the same price point as when PS2 really took off, do you think the peak has yet to come?
PR I think that was eight years into its lifecycle. I think the PS3 has a lot of legs left in it yet. I don’t think people should dismiss it right now. There are so many exclusive developers working for Sony right now, making really exciting games and I don’t many of those have been announced yet. As proved with the PS2 I don’t think the technological barriers are pushed quite until the past minute. I think The Last Of Us, when they announced that trailer was all in engine, I think people were wowed by that and rightly so. Those guys are incredibly talented."
