If this has to do with the install base, it wouldnt make any sense to do this right before release in other markets.

Perhaps its japan only devs? Or perhaps there is some physical force causing this. Otherwise, the other problem is that3ds has more software and more competition. It has more exposure, but working on a brand new system is generally preferred from what i hear regarding app development.

Yeah, i believe this refers to japanese developers.

You have to understand that 3rd parties want to make money and doesnt fall onto them to support the hardware to increase sales. Nintendo did something about the 3DS, Sony has to do something about the Vita themselves.

....

From a 3rd party point of view, whose purpose is to survive/make a profit. The 3DS is the logical choice. Furthermore, i think that due to the fact that the 3DS is reaching foreign markets aswell, its a much better venue to port old PSP titles that never sold much in the west due to the PSP's failure.

I'm pretty sure theres good money to be made just porting things like FF7CC, FFtype zero, Kingdom Hearts BBS, FFT, Y's, etc, aswell as Gamecube and Playstation 2 games....

If they want money abandoning PSV is stupid move.

Sony ecosystem is much friendlier than Nintendo for bringing niche small titles overseas - not only it is region free but with huge push for digital sales you can release titles only digitally reducing costs and you mantain presence of your games on the market for years without reprints.

Instead they choose to crowd on Nintendo platform squished beetwen Nintendo own titles and 3rd party super sellers like MH or RE
