Everything will be okay after the Vita price cut. Just like the 3DS.

The price certainly needs rectifying, but the difference is that 3DS benefited wonderfully with two blockbusters that have already cracked a million units in all three major markets (2m+ soon) and moved a lot of systems, and it'll have a new 2D Mario within the next year, not to mention the eventual new Pokemon; two more games guaranteed to do the same.  And even if Vita does manage to get Monster Hunter 4, 3DS will have it first, along with a commanding lead.

Handhelds are a much tougher sell than consoles as far as people owning more than one.  Vita not only has the challenge of convincing people there're enough games worth buying it for, but also that it's worth buying over a 3DS.  Frankly, it's not looking good for the foreseeable future...

Call of Duty, Assassins Creed and Bioshock were confirmed for this year on the Playstation Blog. Those are some big names.

While a Bioshock may be enough to make me personally look twice, none of those titles have the worldwide appeal and selling power of a good Mario platformer, Mario Kart or Pokemon.  And while COD could possibly do it in the west, I'm not yet convinced that its phenomenal selling power will carry over to a handheld.  We'll see, though.
