I know what you're thinking. This post is biased as shit! Well, that's because it is. Here is the true list:

Platforming: Mario
First Person Shooter: Halo
TPS: Gears of War (or R&C if that counts)
Strategy: Valkyria Chronicles
Party: Mario Party
Action Adventure: Demon Souls
RPG: IDK
Racing: Project Gotham
Sandbox: inFamous?
Other: Heavy Rain

I don't really have an opinion when it comes to racing (got tired of GT around A-Spec and never played a Forza) but I can really respect your second list.  It shows a lot of open-mindedness and it closely matches my personal tastes.  I'm a Zelda fan but I've never played Demon's Souls.

Anyway, I feel that if you approach this argument as listed above, the answer to the question "Who has the best exclusives" isn't that hard to figure out, anymore.  All that matters is which of those genres you personally enjoy the most.
