Sorry for my selfish desires but no, devs won't always port to platforms with significantly inferior hardware which is a lesson learned from this gen.


As someone already wrote the Wii's hardware was different in many ways. The Graphics pipeline was alot more static than the other two. The Wii had a similar pipeline as Gamecube and that's the main reason. Other's like lack of buttons on the controller forcing motion control was also a factor.

But if you really wanna talk about inferior hardware then let's just look at how PC does it. Scaling things down. There are many settings to tweak with and that's the same options they have here. U can have a really sucky rig and still play games. They may not look as good but still playable.
