Yea is a great shame they are gone. They did some real magic with the gamecube. Those games were some of the best looking PS2 era games for an extremely long time.

By most accounts it sounds like Sony are the ones that messed it up for them. The rumours going around were that Lair was delayed in order to shoe-horn sixaxis controls in as Sony wanted a game to show them off properly. The fact Sony felt a need to then later try and tell reviewers how to do their job by sending a booklet detailing how the sixaxis controls worked seems to go along with that.

I would have liked to have seen Factor 5 have a go at a Wii game. I'm sure with their experience on the gamecube they could have made something very impressive for it.

Apparently what remains of Factor 5 still works with Nintendo when it comes to creating console architecture - they were involved in the Wii and the 3DS, apparently. I like to imagine what a Rogue Squadron game on the Wii U would be like, if carefully designed around the stronger elements of the series.
