As others have stated companies kind of do owe consumers. If consumers wants and needs aren't met then they simply can't be expected to spend their money on the product. I know the new generation is tough and the gaming industry hasn't really gone through this kind of thing yet, but what good does complaining about do. The unfortunate truth of the matter is that consumers as a rule are getting smarter, generation "whatever" is highly tech savvy and connected. We (people in general) just want to be kept in the loop now. This isn't just about gaming industry it is all over. We understand that their are cost. That these companies want to make money. We just want to be kept informed. Is that really so much to ask?

The truth of the matter is that this new generation can be really loyal if you meet their needs. Their is potential to monetonize on any generation you just have to understand what they are looking for. Any marketing book will tell you it is not about ads anymore; It is about building relationships with your consumers. It really seems to me that what we want as consumers is a relationship with our favorite companies. Them not understanding that is odd to us.

95% of gamers don't know they are noobs, the 5% who do won't be noobs for long
